Frequently Asked Questions
How far in advance should we book calligraphy for our wedding?
Play it safe, and touch base with me as soon as you can so I can block the appropriate time on my calendar. Below is a general timeline to keep in mind:
- It’s customary to mail your save the dates five to 10 months prior to the wedding date. Adjust this as necessary if you will have a destination wedding or many out of town guests.
- Six to eight weeks is best for mailing out your wedding invitations.
- Turn around time for envelope addressing is roughly one week per 100 envelopes, plus the time accounted for shipping.
Do I provide you with my own envelopes?
Yes! You can ship me your stationary or drop them off to me in person if you are local. Please order extra envelopes to account for paper damage, extras and/or human error- 20% is a good estimate.
Where are you located?
I am based in Alexandria, Virginia, near Washington, D.C., and provide calligraphy services to anyone, anywhere. I am happy to meet via Skype if "in-person" meetings are preferred. If you are local to the northern Virginia area, I would welcome the opportunity to meet you!
What about Shipping?
Shipping costs will be the clients responsibility. I will send a confirmation as soon as I have received your items (envelopes, etc). Once calligraphy is complete, I will send an invoice for the remaining balance of your order, including return shipping costs. Full payment is required before your completed order is shipped back to you. I will use the most economical option for shipping your items back to you and will also provide a tracking number.
Do you partner with corporate events?
Yes! I have worked with corporate clients in the past to provide day-of calligraphy at studio or in-store events. If you would like more information about event calligraphy, please contact me with your event specifics and we can move forward from there.
Are you interested in Styled Shoots?
Yes! If you are a designer or photographer interested in having calligraphy stationery products in your next shoot, please contact me. I would love to partner with you and share your work on my site.
